Family Safari Accommodation
If you are taking a family safari with younger children it is important that you are all under one roof. We can arrange for your family to stay at a series of spectacular two or three bedroom lodges which are in the wild heart of Africa. These come with your own private guide and vehicle so that you can enjoy safaris at your convenience. Many properties have a private pool, some have the option of private dining. Elephants and giraffe wander past your pool deck. Family vacations don’t come any better than this.
Kenya has several excellent family safari lodges. Elsa’s private house sits atop a great rocky outcrop with views across hundreds of miles of golden savannah to distant volcanoes. Sit on your deck by your private pool and gaze across the timeless landscape. The house takes six guests in three luxurious bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Meru National Park has great herds of buffalo, black maned lions, leopard and impressive breeding herds of elephant.
Other superb family lodges in Kenya include Cottars Camp in the Masai Mara, where you can admire the wildebeest migration from your enormous two bedroom suite made of white canvas. From the family suite at Tortilis camp you wake in the morning to views of snow capped Kilimanjaro.
Further into the wilds is Kiba Point, a stunning three bedroom family lodge overlooking the mighty Rufiji river in the Selous Game reserve. Your private guide will take your family on exciting safaris by open vehicle, on foot and by boat watching hippopotamus, wild dog and massive herds of elephant. Further south Kigelia House is another superb family lodge, overlooking the Zambezi river. Between July and October literally hundreds of elephant gather to swim, drink and play in the river. Sometimes you don’t need to leave your lodge for the best game viewing.
For a malaria free safari, the ultimate is surely Little Madikwe Hills. A super luxurious two bedroom suite with air conditioning, large private pool deck, private safari guide, private gourmet chef, and concertina glass doors giving views across miles of virgin bush. Two more suites can be booked giving a completely private safari for up to eight guests.
