Sausage Tree Camp

Sausage Tree Camp holds just eighteen guests in seven Bedouin-style tents and has tremendous views of the wide calm Zambezi River. Five tents are large Signature tents with a large bedroom, outdoor bathroom and teak sliding doors that slide open unveiling a private deck overlooking the river. The camp also has two Honeymoon Suites which are even larger and come with an impressive private bar and dining area, both indoor and outdoor bathrooms and a vast private deck and plunge pool.

Kigelia House is the most recent addition at Sausage Tree Camp and consists of two spacious bedrooms; both with en-suite bathrooms complete with a bath tub, twin showers and basins. There is a fully equipped bar and dining table where guests can enjoy private meals. Outside is a large infinity pool and a sizeable open plan living area with leather loungers, a day bed and deck chairs. Located on a high bank next to the Zambezi River with a stunning teak deck sweeping along the entire suite, Kigelia House undoubtedly has some of the best views to offer in the region. It is perfect for families or small groups travelling together. Both bedrooms have the capacity to add a third bed if required.

The camp serves delicious food and champagne bush breakfasts with the opportunity to enjoy barbeques under the African sky.

A main attraction of the Lower Zambezi is the vast range of game viewing activities available; Expert guides will take you on walks with an armed scout tracking animals on foot as you move through the bush learning about your surroundings as you go. Traditional open 4x4 game drives are available in the morning and evening giving guests the opportunity to try and spot a large variety of animals including nocturnal wildlife such as civet, porcupine and leopard. In the afternoon you can enjoy a paddling down the Zambezi in a stable canoe as you watch animals coming to the water's edge to drink and interact with one another. If you take an interest in fishing why not challenge one of the 20lbs tiger fish, a strict catch-and-release policy is observed.
